Oxasport partners with elite academies to offer full-year football boarding school programs for players aged 12 to 18.
A football boarding school is a full-time residential program that combines elite football training with secondary school education. Unlike a traditional football academy where players return home after training, a boarding school program means your child lives, trains, studies, and develops entirely within the academy environment — typically for a full academic year.
This immersive structure produces a different kind of development. Players train alongside peers who share the same level of commitment and ambition. They experience professional football culture daily rather than occasionally. They develop independence, resilience, and the kind of mental maturity that coaches at the highest levels look for alongside technical ability.
For families whose child has outgrown local football development and is genuinely serious about pursuing the game at the highest level possible, a football boarding school program represents the most comprehensive development environment available outside of a professional club’s own academy system.
Professional training environment — Every program Oxasport partners with is run by or affiliated with a professional football club. Your child does not train at a facility that resembles a professional academy — they train at one. The coaching methodologies, fitness protocols, tactical education, and daily standards are those used to develop the club’s own academy players.
Academic qualification alongside football — Every program on this page includes a recognised academic qualification. Depending on the program your child joins, they can complete an International Baccalaureate, an American Baccalaureate, or a Spanish national curriculum qualification. Your child’s education does not pause while they pursue football — it continues at a high standard within the same environment.
Full immersion in elite football culture — Living and training in Spain or France places your child inside the football cultures that have produced some of the world’s best players. The training philosophies at La Liga clubs like Atletico de Madrid and Getafe CF, and at PSG Academy in France, reflect the methodologies that have shaped the modern game. This is not a simulation of that environment — it is the environment itself.
A structured pathway for serious players — Football boarding school programs are not for every player. They are designed for teenagers who are genuinely committed to pursuing football at the highest level they can reach, who have the maturity to live away from home, and whose families understand that serious development requires serious investment of both time and resources. If that describes your child, these programs offer a structured, supported pathway that local training simply cannot replicate.
Finding and enrolling in a football boarding school program involves more than selecting a school and submitting an application. Each program has specific entry requirements, enrolment timelines, visa considerations for non-EU families, and academic prerequisites. The process can be complex and time-consuming for families navigating it for the first time.
Oxasport acts as your dedicated guide through this process. We have direct relationships with each academy we represent, which means we can give you accurate and current information about availability, requirements, and fit.
Our process is straightforward. You tell us about your child — their age, current level, academic situation, and what they are hoping to achieve. We recommend the program or programs that fit their profile and your family’s circumstances. We guide you through the application process, answer every question along the way, and remain your point of contact until your child’s place is confirmed.
There is no cost to enquire and no obligation to proceed. If after our conversation we do not think any of our current programs are the right fit for your child, we will tell you honestly.
Football Boarding Schools in Spain — Spain is home to four of the five programs Oxasport currently offers. Training within La Liga‘s football culture, players develop the technical and tactical foundations that Spanish football is globally recognised for. Programs are based in Madrid and Barcelona, each offering a distinct environment and football philosophy.
Football Boarding Schools in France — The PSG Academy Pro Residency near Geneva places players inside one of Europe’s most recognised football brands. Training in the PSG methodology with access to a strong academic program, this option is particularly well suited to families considering the US college soccer pathway or looking for a French-speaking environment.
The programs Oxasport offers accept players from age 12 upwards, with most programs designed for players between 14 and 18. The right age to join depends on your child’s maturity, current level, and which program they are considering. We are happy to discuss whether the timing is right during an initial conversation.
es — every program we offer includes a recognised academic qualification alongside the football training. Depending on the program, students can complete an International Baccalaureate, an American Baccalaureate, or a Spanish national curriculum qualification. Academic standards are taken seriously within these programs and players are expected to perform in the classroom as well as on the pitch.
A football academy typically means players train at the club’s facility and return home or to local accommodation afterwards. A football boarding school means players live full-time within or alongside the academy environment — they eat, sleep, study, and train within the same structured program. The boarding school model produces a more complete development environment because football culture and standards are present throughout the day, not just during training hours.
Yes. Several of the programs we offer accept both male and female players. When you enquire, let us know whether you are looking for a program for a boy or a girl and we will confirm which options are available.
The right program depends on several factors — your child’s current level, age, academic situation, preferred language environment, and longer term football goals. This is exactly the conversation we have with every family that contacts us. There is no standard answer and we do not recommend a program until we understand your child’s specific situation.
The programs we currently offer range from €32,000 to €70,000 per year. Fees typically include accommodation, meals, football training, and academic tuition. Some programs offer payment plans. Contact us for a full fee breakdown for the specific program you are interested in.
EU passport holders do not require a visa for programs in Spain or France. Families from outside the EU will need to apply for a student visa for their child. The requirements and timelines vary by nationality. We recommend beginning the visa process as early as possible once a place is confirmed and we can guide you through what the process typically involves for the most common nationalities we work with.
Tell us about your child and what they are hoping to achieve. We will recommend the program that fits best and guide you through every step of the process.
